FAQ

What is the downtime? Can I go back to work after my treatment?

You may notice redness, swelling, and mild soreness immediately after the procedure, but this usually doesn’t prevent you from returning to work. If social downtime is a concern, consider scheduling your appointment around your work schedule.

When will I see results?

Results typically start to become noticeable within a week after treatment and continue to improve over time. For concerns like melasma or deep lines and wrinkles, several sessions may be necessary to achieve optimal results.

How long do results last?

Results from microneedling are long-lasting, but maintenance depends on diligent lifestyle choices and a consistent skincare routine. Following a professional skincare regimen can help sustain the results.

Does it hurt?

A topical anesthetic cream is applied before the procedure to minimize discomfort, making the treatment generally well-tolerated.

Are there any other side effects I should know about?

The most common side effects include redness and sensitivity, which usually resolve within 24 hours after treatment.

When can I wear makeup again?

It is recommended to wait at least 24 hours before applying makeup to allow the skin to heal properly.

I’m pregnant or breastfeeding. Can I get microneedling?

It’s best to consult your OBGYN for clearance before undergoing microneedling if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Pre-Treatment Guidelines

Schedule your appointment at least one week before an event. Redness, swelling, and peeling may occur during this time.

Let your provider know if you have a history of cold sores. An antiviral may be prescribed as a precaution.

You may not have an active rash or infection in the area being treated to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the procedure.

You’ll need to avoid Accutane for six months prior to treatment to reduce the risk of complications.

You’ll need to avoid waxing for at least one week before treatment to prevent skin irritation.

To reduce sensitivity, discontinue the use of topical retinoids 24 hours before your treatment.

If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, approval from your OB-GYN is required before undergoing treatment.

To minimize bruising or bleeding, we recommend discontinuing aspirin, NSAIDs, and fish oil three days before and after the treatment. Always consult with your primary physician before stopping any prescribed medications.

Post-Treatment Guidelines

Redness or sensitivity may occur and typically lasts up to 24 hours after treatment.

Peeling and dryness may begin 3-5 days post-treatment. Avoid picking or scratching the treated skin to prevent irritation or complications.

Refrain from strenuous exercise or activities that cause sweating for 24 hours.

Wait at least 24 hours before applying makeup to allow the skin to heal.

Avoid sun tanning and prolonged sun exposure during the healing process. If sun exposure is unavoidable, apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ and reapply every two hours.

For concerns like melasma, acne, scars, and hyperpigmentation, 4-6 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart are recommended for optimal results.

For age management, 4-6 treatments spaced 12 weeks apart are ideal. After completing the initial series, return every 12 weeks for maintenance to achieve the best long-term results.
